April 06, 2009. Shipper's Choice Awards Survey - 2009

Each year Canadian Transportation & Logistics magazine conducts a carrier evaluation survey called the Shipper’s Choice Awards. All shippers are invited to evaluate the carriers they use in each mode, according to 7 key performance indicators. The results of the survey are published as the cover feature of the August issue. May 31, 2007. MacKinnon Man Named Top Fleet Maintenance Supervisor

Richard Sharpe was awarded the 2007 Canadian Fleet Maintenance Manager of the Year Award today (May 30th) at the Canadian Fleet Maintenance Seminar in Toronto. This prestige award presented by Volvo Trucks is the top honor a Fleet Maintenance Manager can receive in Canada. The selection committee consists of media trade publication representatives as well as past recipients of the award. This award not only recognized the career achievements of the individual, however also recognized the person themselves for their unselfish contributions to the community and the industry.

June 15, 2006. Apprenticeship for Ontario Truck Drivers

MacKinnon Transport is honored that the Ministry of Training, Colleges, & Universities and the Apprenticeship Board have chosen our main terminal location to officially sign the first apprentice in the new Tractor-Trailer Commercial Driver Apprenticeship.

July 5, 2005.  Congratulations in order at Mackinnon!

We are very pleased to announce two significant promotions as well as additional appointments to the Senior Management Team.

Effective July 1st, 2005, Greg Coughlin has accepted the position of Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and Rick Miller has accepted the position of Vice President of Operations.

Rick and Greg join Graham Keltie who joined the Company on June 13th as Vice President of Finance and Administration. All three will report to the board of directors.

Greg Coughlin, in his role as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, will head up all the Company's sales and marketing activities, focusing on our existing customers as well as expanded and strategically targeted opportunities for the Company.

Rick Miller, as Vice President of Operations will be managing all aspects of our Linehaul Operations, the full load and less than load areas of our business, MacKinnon Global Logistics efforts, and warehousing operations.

Graham Keltie, as Vice President of Finance and Administration will be responsible for all areas of finance and corporate administration including Information Technology, Maintenance, Human Resources, and Safety and Driver Resources.

Other recent appointments to the Senior Management team of MacKinnon Transport Inc include Jim Nelson who joined the company in November 2004 as Manager of Human Resources, and Richard Sharpe who joined in January 2005 as Manager of Maintenance.

January 18, 2005.  MacKinnon Expands! Again!

MacKinnon Transport Inc. has secured a long-term lease, which will allow expansion of Logistic Services to our present and future clients. The new facility (located minutes from the main terminal) consists of 87,000 square feet of warehouse space, 10 acres of land and 15,000 square feet of office space.

MacKinnon has grown rapidly over a short period of time and this acquisition will provide the space and opportunity for MacKinnon to accommodate the continual increase of personnel as well as meet the needs of our customers. Once renovations have been completed the MacKinnon Global Logistics and Sales departments will relocate.

This new facility increases our inside warehousing capabilities by 200%, allows the LTL (Less Than Load) department continued expansion and enhances our outside storage capacity.

September 10, 2004.  2004 CTA Shippers Choice Award

MacKinnon Transport has been selected as one of 10 recipients of the Shippers Choice Award for 2004 in the TL category, out of 1056 evaluations that were done. The Canadian Industrial Transportation Association is one of the sponsors of this award

March 17, 2004.  2003 National Fleet Safety Award

On March 16, 2004 TCA announced the two Grand Prize winners of the 2003 National Fleet Safety Award. MacKinnon Transport is the winner in the over 25 million miles per year category! Bill MacKinnon, Chairman of MacKinnon Transport Inc., and Ray Haight, president of MacKinnon Transport Inc., were both on hand to accept the award.
